JOB DESCRIPTION This is to ascertain the understanding of the Job you are expected to perform. Designation : Hardware Design Engineer Department : Research and Development I. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Research and develop functioning products taken from an idea and make it into a practical implementation. II. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Involve in all levels of R&D activities, from concept design, implementation / coding, and testing. · Gather information and resources needed to put together a functioning product based on the requirements of the conceptual design. · Develop a conceptual design from the needs and wants of an idea. · Build and test product prototypes. · Design and development of power circuitries. · Design and development of electrical circuitries. · Design and development of electronic circuitries. · Design and development of circuit boards. · Design and development of microcontroller & microprocessor-based system. · Design and development of firmwares. · Find sources of components & material for prototype building · Provide technical advice and support to crew on site on power systems, electrical systems, wiring, etc. · Testing and commissioning (TnC) of project installations. III. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: · Generate and update all R&D documents and procedures. · Learn and implement any other areas of knowledge needed to complete a particular project. VI. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Skills · C/C++ programming · Using CAD software · Using software for PCB design · Informed in usages and the existence of various electrical and electronic components and devices to assist and/or used in development (know what components to use for certain functions/tasks and know where to get them) · Collecting information on various needs · Understand engineering datasheets and drawings. · Problem solving, troubleshooting and creative thinking Knowledge · Power/Electrical /electronics · Logic design · Understanding of printed circuit board (PCB) designs · Microcontroller and microprocessor usage understanding · C/C++ language · Various manufacturing processes. · Other areas as needed on a particular project.
