Network Administrator

Job Description:

Network Administrator responsible for managing a LAN/WAN covering 3 major
sites and 20 minor sites. In addition, about a 100 outlets connect to the
main site. The major/minor sites connect through a variety of technologies
mainly ATM and Frame Relay.

The Network Administrator will be responsible for installation,
configuration and maintenance of all network equipment – switches, routers
etc. The NA shall monitor the network and troubleshoot network problems;
conduct routine hardware/software audits in accordance with
established policies, procedures, configuration guidelines, and service
level agreements.

The NA shall plan and develop network resources; evaluate and recommend
upgrades [both hardware and software.] The NA will also be involved in
managing Windows network services in collaboration with the Windows
Administrator. The NA will provide second or third level support to
Helpdesk staff or other administrators for all network related problems.
The NA will also be actively involved in troubleshooting systems
problems by supporting other administrators on network issues.

Required Skill Set (Mandatory):

· The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years experience
performing administration of a similar sized network.

· The candidate should be at least a CCIE.

· The candidate should be experienced in working with Cisco switches and
routers.

· A thorough knowledge of TCP/IP is a must.

· Knowledge of the following is essential: Structured Cabling – Copper and
Fiber; V LANs; Network Management; Wireless; ATM; Frame Relay; ISDN; OSPF;
EIGRP; RIP; VPN.

· The candidate should possess a working knowledge of Windows operating
systems and environment.

. Ability to design a network solution when given business requirements.

· Awareness of basic network security principles and practices.

· The candidate should be a self-starter, self-motivated, proactive, team
player and well spoken.

· The candidate should be fluent in written and spoken English; Arabic
will be an added advantage.

Additional Skills (Optional):

· MCSE 2000/2003 certification will be an advantage.

· A Bachelor's degree in science/engineering discipline or higher.

· Ability to evaluate technologies and debrief the management.

· Any kind of security certification [like CCSP ] is highly desirable.

· Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of
expertise.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to easily and effectively
interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all
levels.

· Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation
skills.
